The Ed Laverty Legacy Sports Fund
Continuing the legacy of a great man dedicated to sport, community and people.
Ed’s Story
Our father Ed Laverty was a man who was deeply passionate about sports and people.
A humble man dubbed “The Godfather of “Touch Football” by his peers was instrumental in the development and growth of the sport locally, provincially and nationally.
His contribution to the community is significant & immeasurable creating revenue streams for businesses, schools, community parks & fields; bringing together all walks of life from women, men, former professional athletes forming lasting relationships, friendships and marriages. A community in sport where there was mentorship, role models, coaching, counsel, jobs created (referees) and opportunities to volunteer and grow both as an athlete and a person.
“Oh… I thought it was somebody important!”
– Eddie Laverty
The Legacy
The Ed Laverty Legacy Sports Fund is a Not For Profit Fund established in 2018 by his daughter, Tammy, to honor the life of her father who gave over 50 years of his life building generations of community in sport.
The Legacy fund’s primary goal will be to raise funds for resources, organizations and programs that help empower, educate & encourage “youth in sport”.
How Can You Help?
Get Involved
Sport has the potential to transform the lives of youth for the better, yet the opportunities are not always there for them. We need your help to create a future where every boy and girl can benefit from sport.
